ATI 2020 Virtual Annual Conference

Welcome to ATI's Virtual 2020 Annual Conference and General Meeting!

Welcome to the "lobby" of our 2020 ACGM!  If you've ever been to an ATI Conference and General Meeting, you know the lobby of the venue is where we meet old friends, make new friends, hammer out issues with a proposal, and gather for tea.  We can't be together in person this year, so we will meet virtually!  This is very new for ATI, and we hope it is an enjoyable experience for you.  So many member volunteers have put in countless hours to plan this virtual ACGM as we pivoted from our planned in-person meeting in Boone, NC. 

This landing page of our virtual 2020 ACGM is where you will find all the information you will need to enjoy this unusual and full conference.  In the various sections of this lobby, you will find:

  • The Conference schedule: when click on the Schedule button, you will see that we have links to the schedule based on your time zone.  Click on that time zone link, and you will find the schedule for the entire conference.  
  • The welcome from the ATI Board.
  • Pre-recorded workshops and ATI Committee videos that you can view at your leisure when you have the free time.
  • The ATI Board, Committee Chair, and Sponsorship voting module.
  • Our library of resources and conference documents that you should review before and during the conference.
  • A fun online "chat" that will let you chat with new and old friends attending this conference, and where you can ask any questions you may have about how to navigate this new ACGM format and platform.

ATI Responds to Racism

ATI has recently drawn up, and is implementing, its Response to Racism: 

Alexander Technique International stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, and calls for the end to state-sanctioned violence against People of Color. We join in the outrage over the recent tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, and so many more Black and Brown citizens who have been senselessly lost to systemic violence worldwide.  Please read the full text of ATI's Response to Racism, which we have translated for our international guests and members.

Additionally, anti-racism will be a continued feature at our Annual Conference and General Meetings, as we address our systemic racism.  We are pleased to announce that this year's inaugural featured speaker is Andrew Suseno, who will speak to us at a plenary session entitled: I Am Not Here To Fix This.

Pre-Recorded Workshops

Many of our workshop presenters have decided to do pre-recorded workshop videos, so that we can enjoy viewing them at our convenience. Make sure you visit this section regularly, as new recordings will be uploaded throughout the week.  These workshops will be available to view once the conference begins.

ATI Is Better With You!

ATI welcomes those individuals who are interested in the AT work to become a member of ATI.  ATI has three types of membership: Trainee Member, Teaching Member, and General Member.  ATI is a member-driven organization, and all members are entitled to vote on the business that shapes ATI, and to do the work of the organization as a volunteer on any of our committees or Executive Board.  Additionally, our Teaching Members are eligible to apply to become an ATI Sponsor.  As a member of ATI, you receive periodic digital publications of the ATI ExChange journal, a membership discount with ISMETA, and access to a network of dynamic, unique AT practitioners around the world.
